There are many types of exercise bikes, including, recumbent, upright, mini, and more. Exercise bikes work when the rider pedals a resistance mechanism, usually in the form of a fan. Resistance is varied by making it more difficult to turn either the pedals or the resistance mechanism.
The most simple and common exercise bikes consist of a set of pedals, handle bars, a seat, and a wheel inside the body of the bike. An odometer, speedometer and screen display the information like distance and speed. The pedals are directly connected to the wheel. When you pedal, the wheel spins and the odometer finds how far you have gone. Then, the speedometer finds the speed you are going. The handlebars help you keep your balance while sitting on the seat. Both the seat and handlebars make exercise bikes feel similar to the everyday bike.
Almost every invention has some kind of competitor. One of ours is the GameBike Pro. It can connect to different devices including the Xbox, PS 2, Playstation and Gamecube. The XRGameKit™ is another competitor. It makes your stationary bike an interactive exercise bike. A computer will use the bike as a controller to play 100’s of video games. Although there are many more bikes, these are some of the best competitors of present time.
